Strongbad Analysis

When I look at this picture, all I can see in Strongbads is anger, and negativity. The boxing gloves, along with the wrestling mask, shows us that he is always ready for a brawl. Making fists with his gloves, along with the angry look on his face, are enough to make any tough guy back down. His beady eyes are enough make any man say "Whoa, I do not wanna mess with this dude." His smirk, and stature show confidence, as if he is looking to start a confrontation. The absense of color in the picture really captures his disgruntled soul. If the picture were to be in color, one may completely think of him as a more happy-go-lucky type of guy, which he most definately is not. Being an old fan of Strongbad, and the world in which he exists, this picture basically sums it up for who he actually is.

Analysis Article

I decided I am going to do my paper on the sport of Lacrosse. Lacrosse is the fastest growing sport in the nation, and many say that is is the original passtime of America. Here is the link for my article. http://www.collegelax.us/news/2008/03/14/wmu-lacrosse-earning-more-than-wins/. This article made the cut, basically because it gives you a simple rundown of what lacrosse is, its history, and how it is one the fastest growing sports in the nation.

The War Zone

There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as terrifying as you worst nightmare and as gruesome as the bloodiest war movie. It is the pinacle of man's struggle between life and death, between peace and conflict, and it lies between the culture's of society, and the conflict of her people. This is the dimension of mankind. . . . It is an area which we call. . . . . . . . . . THE WAR ZONE.

Discussing the Readings

Both papers basically tell us what not to do when writing a paper. I like both of them from a student's standpoint because I learned something from both of them. In the "What is an Academic Paper," i got really bored and lost my train of thought many times based on the sheer length of it. Although I thought it was well structured, it bored the hell out of me just because it was so freaking long. The second paper, "How to write a boring scientific lecture," I thought was alot more interesting. To me, it seemed shorter, and more interesting. In this case, I think that less is more because the reader stays focussed throughout the entire paper, even though it took you nowhere. None the less, both papers taught me how to write a boring paper, something that I hope i won't be doing in the future.

Analysis Project Proposal

As of right now, I am quite unsure on what I would like to do my project on, but I have a few ideas. I have been considering analyzing one of my long-time favorite TV shows, South Park. South Park, in my opinion, is currently the best adult cartoon since the Simpsons. The show covers many serious worldy issues, and alot of times brings light to many serious issues. Another topic I am considering analyzing is the musical genre of Heavy Metal. Heavy metal is one of my favorite kinds of music, and I would like to break down the genre to its roots, and describe how it has changed over the years.
